Ford, New Holland, et al
Unsurprisingly, sometimes a name will just stick. We get a lot of inquiries regarding Ford weights. These inquiries are often by email and provide limited or no model information. This puts us into chase mode as we try to determine what the person is really wanting and what machine they actually own.
Ford Tractor Company (unrelated to Henry Ford, Ford Motor Company, or Fordson Tractors). Produced from 1916 to 1918. This company had a dubious history and very few machines have actually survived. We can still provide wheel weights (non original) for these tractors, but we must know the wheel size and spoke diameter in order to provide a quote.
We have some inquiries asking for wheel weights for Ford tractors when they really mean Fordson. The real confusion begins with Ford and New Holland. The Ford name was retired by Fiat more than 20 years ago and replaced with the New Holland name. However, we still get inquiries asking for Ford weights for a New Holland machine bought new yesterday. We also get lots of inquiries where the person assumes (incorrectly) that the older Ford style weights are interchangable with current New Holland models.
