SHIPPING FAQ and RULES
Shipping Rules are Part of our Terms of Use Agreement
Our shipping department is open Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm CST (excluding major holidays). We usually ship orders within 48 hours (2 business days) of receiving your order.
You will be provided notification of shipping along with tracking numbers on the day your item ships. You will also be provided with an estimated number of days that your order will be in-transit.
A REAL PERSON MUST BE AVAILABLE TO RECEIVE SHIPMENTS BY TRUCK FREIGHT. THE CARRIERS WILL NOT DROP OFF FREIGHT WITHOUT THE PRESENCE OF A PERSON AUTHORIZED TO RECEIVE THE SHIPMENT.
RE-DELIVERY WILL RESULT IN ADDTIONAL CHARGES OR FEES.
Please read through the FAQ below for more specific rules, circumstances, and issues relating to your shipment.
We ship truck freight (common carrier) for most items. This means a large truck or semi will deliver your items to your address. Having room for the truck to get into and out of your location is important. If you have any concerns, contact us in advance of placing an order.
Some small items may ship via the USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL etc.
Truck shipments require a legal physical address. We DO NOT ship truck freight to post office boxes.
We ship truck freight to all legal physical addresses in the contiguous (conterminous) United States of America that have sufficient roads and space to accept delivery trucks.
We will ship smaller items, when no items requiring truck freight are on the same order, to all physical addresses and post office boxes in the contiguous (conterminous) United States of America that are currently listed as active with the United States Postal Service.
While we agree that a farm is a commercial enterprise, the trucking companies have their own rules. As these tariff rules apply to us, the following applies to our shipments:
Residential Rates Apply:
Private Residences, Apartment Complexes, dormitories and all businesses located at or on the same property as a private residence. Includes all farms, ranches, orchards and vineyards.
Tip: Commercial rates are usually less expensive than Residential rates. You may want to have your employer, a local co-op, gas station, feed store, or friend with a commercial business address and forklift receive your order for you. If you would like to use this tip, make sure you enter the proper 'ship to' address at the time of checkout.
Tip: You can also choose to pick up your order at the carriers destination terminal. This is usually cheaper than residential delivery. See the separate heading in this Shipping FAQ for more information.
Commercial Rates Apply:
Note: Commercial Rates are usually less expensive than Residential Rates.
Commercial businesses are businesses with signage and open to the walk-in public during normal business hours. Must have personnel readily available to assist with delivery. Must have dock, loading platform, or forklift or similar material handling equipment (sized appropriately for the delivery) readily available. Must be able to accept 48' trailers on your property.
The following, though not all inclusive, are considered limited access locations. If we determine your delivery address is a limited access location. We will contact you regarding any additional charges that may apply before we ship your order.
Typical up-charges for limited access locations are $105.00 for shipments under 2500 pounds or $150.00 for shipments over 2500 pounds.

With Truck Freight, the driver will be able to get your shipment to the back of the truck in almost all cases. If you have a forklift or similar equipment, you DO NOT need to request Lift Gate Service.
If you REQUIRE the driver to use a lift gate to lower your order to the ground, you MUST choose the lift gate option at the time of checkout.
If you do not choose the lift gate option at checkout and subsequently ask the freight truck driver to use a lift gate, you agree to immediately reimburse us for any service cost charged back to us by the carrier.
Shipping costs are determined by the applicable category (Residential, Commercial, and or Limited Access) and the total weight of the items in your cart (less the weight of any items that qualify for Free Shipping) plus the distance from our warehouse to your delivery address. The weight of the pallet and packaging material is not used in determining your shipping cost.
Any additional weight charges for pallets or packaging charged to us by the carrier are covered by TractorWeights.com
Additional fees may apply for limited access delivery or lift gate service. See these headings in this Shipping FAQ for more information.
We do offer free shipping on some smaller items. If these items are ordered together with items that require truck freight shipping, we do not include the weight of the free shipping item when we calculate your shipping costs at checkout.
To achieve free shipping on everything, we would have to raise the product price to cover this expense. This would result in product prices where every customer that purchases a product from us is also subsidizing the shipping costs to other customers. This would be an easy solution for us, but certainly not in the best interest of our customers.
Yes, you can choose dock or terminal pickup at the time of checkout. When your order is shipped we will provide you with the information regarding the location of the carrier's destination terminal. Keep in mind, we make no guarantee how close the carrier's destination terminal is to your actual address. It could be five minutes away or more than 2 hours of driving time from your actual delivery address.
On shipments moving through interline arrangements, the original carrier may not be the delivering carrier. Interline tracking can be difficult. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
NOTE: To AVOID ADDITIONAL CHARGES, You must be able to pick up your shipment within 24 hours after receiving the arrival notification from the carrier.
Note: Unlike small package carriers, it can take up to 24 hours before your tracking number becomes active in the freight carriers system.
You will be provided tracking information when your order ships. We usually will provide you with two numbers that can be used for tracking. The first is the pro-number of the shipment. For direct shipments (where the origination carrier and the delivery carrier are the same) this number will be all you need to track your shipment.
Some shipments may use interline carriers. That is where the origination carrier and the delivering carrier are different. We will also provide you a BOL (Bill of Lading) number at the time of shipment. With interline shipments the pro-number can change between carriers whereas the BOL number almost always stays the same.

You are responsible for carefully examining all shipments before signing a bill of lading, an electronic acceptance, or a delivery sheet. You must note all damages and shortages when signing. If you detect any damage or shortage in the shipment, this damage or shortage must be recorded on the bill of lading, electronic acceptance, or the delivery sheet and the carrier's driver must sign and acknowledge this record. You must retain a copy of the signed bill of lading, electronic acceptance, or delivery sheet and initiate a claim with the carrier at once.
Any damages or shortages of products submitted after the bill of lading, electronic acceptance, or delivery sheet has been signed (acknowledging to the carrier that the products were delivered in good condition) cannot be accepted for a claim at a later date. Do NOT refuse the shipment as this will only slow or delay your claim. We do NOT refund shipping costs for refused or undeliverable shipments.
You must retain any crates, pallets, cartons, packages, related items, and information until inspection has been made by the carrier. Any claim involving concealed damage, missing products, or incorrect part(s) received that are not reported within 30 days of the invoice will not be honored by tractorweights.com.
