Hardware supplied or recommended is intended for the application identified with that hardware. Torque values are advisory only because torque is an indirect indication of tension and no two bolts are exactly the same at a given torque.

Real-world differences can affect preload. The listed values are general estimated torque values and should not override product-specific instructions, equipment manufacturer guidance, or a documented torque specification for the actual installation.

Incorrect installation, improper use, or over-tightening or under-tightening of fasteners can cause personal injury or equipment failure. Stop using the product and contact TractorWeights.com if you have concerns about maintaining clamp force, bolt breakage, or deformation.

Inspection and Installation Guidance

  • Check the torque and condition of fasteners regularly. The original reference recommends checking after approximately 3 to 5 hours of use following installation and then regularly thereafter, at least monthly.
  • Use only the applicable hardware configuration and coating condition shown for the installation. Torque values are not interchangeable across bolt sizes, grades, coatings, lubricants, or mounting systems.
  • Do not treat this page as permission to substitute hardware, change fastener grade, add washers, or alter a product-specific stack-up.

Thread-locker note: The original reference states that, when liquid thread locker is used despite it not being recommended, Zinc Plated - Dry values may be used as a starting point. Contact TractorWeights.com with questions because actual conditions can require different performance.
